Arrested of 41 smugglers, including an Afghan woman and one Iranian man

during the Month of Swore of Islamic year of 1396 (May 2017) police of counter narcotic and other country security detective organization in link with 35 cases of alcohol and drug crimes arrested 41 people and sent to criminal justices task force for further investigation.  Among the detained there was one Iranian citizen and one afghan woman. 

Quantities of drugs seized by afghan security and detective organization as follow:

 (315.345 kilograms) of heroin

 (203.7 kilograms) of opium

 (3595.128 kilograms) of hashish

 (1010.7 kg) of solid chemicals

 (302.5) liters of liquid chemicals

 (746.75 liters) of alcohol

Currently the detainees with their related cases are under the investigation of criminal justice task force.

General directorate of CJTF prosecution during the month of swore (May 2017) current year in addition to 42 cases from last month and received 46 new cases from investigation and laboratory department of counter narcotic police and the total is 88 cases and among that only 39 cases of narcotic, investigation is completed.

This department according to the mentioned period 86 cases is assigned to competent court, 46 cases related to the primary court, 23 cases related to the appeal court, 17 cases related to the  to the Supreme Court’s public security bureau of Islamic republic of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile during this period in relation 37 cases of alcohol and drug crimes judgment by primary court, 30 cases by appeal court and 17 cases by Supreme Court’s public security bureau of Islamic republic of Afghanistan.

Provinces with the most cases of alcohol and drug crimes in the month of swore of current year (May 2017) Kabul province having 14 cases, Nangarhar province having 5 cases, Herat Province having 4 cases is topped the list of provinces.

Provinces without alcohol and drugs crimes cases in the month of Swore of current year :Logar, Khost , Daykundi, Nuristan, Zabel, Wardak, Takhar, Sar-e pol, Samangan, Paktika, Uruzgan, Laghman, Kundiz, Kunar, kapisa, Jowzjan, Ghor, Faryab,Farah, Bamyan, Balkh, Badghis.

The criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF) was set up as an end to end Afghan process to bring to justice those involved in serious intoxicating drinks and narco-crimes within Afghanistan. It was set up by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in May 2005 and has a mandate from the counter Narcotics Law to investigate and prosecute all serious intoxicating drinks and drug-relating offences from across the country.

Based on articles 17 and 18 of of the Law against Intoxicating Drinks and Drugs gives the prosecutors and judge’s jurisdiction over cases involving:  2 or more Kgs of Heroin, 10 or more Kgs of Opium , 50 or over Kgs of Hashish and chemical procurers, 50 or over liters of Alcohol,  from all over country.
